【Student's Work】
This large mosaic work consists of 3 pieces (the work in the pic is one of the them) made by Mrs C and her son who studied graphic design. You can sense the strong uplifting energy produced by the carp! And this work looks like a Japanese charcoal drawing called smie.
この大作は3部作の一つで、制作者はCさんとグラフィック・デザインを学んだ彼女の息子さん。作品中の鯉からは、強い生命力のようなものを感じます。また、この作品、どこか日本の墨絵にタッチが似ています。
【Student's Work in Progress】
This unfinished mosaic work was made by Ms V's. She is planning to give this sweet penguin to her brother who is a penguin lover. Ms V effectively laid blue stained glass with stream lines in this work and that created the feel of Antarctica. Mr penguin will have a company of his seal friend on the iceberg next time Ms V attends the class!
これは、Vさんが制作中の作品です。これはペンギン好きの弟さんへのプレゼントだそう。線の入った青いガラスを効果的に配置する事で、南極の雰囲気をうまく醸し出しています。Vさんが次回受講される際には、流氷にアザラシの友達ができる予定です(*^^*)

【Student's Work in Progress】
Mrs A is currently making this mosque using stained glass, ceramic plate, tiles and tesserae. The wooden part will be filled in too. The Morrocan style ceramic plate and gold color glass pieces added some Arabic taste in this work. Materials often give us inspiration and that is probably one of the major difference between painting and mosaic art. And also this aspect makes the mosaic art more attractive and unique!
現在、生徒のAさんが制作中の作品、モスクです。モロッコ・スタイルのお皿と金色のガラスを組み合わせる事により、アラビア半島の雰囲気が見事に表現されています。使用する材料がインスピレーションをくれる事も多々あり。そこが絵画などの芸術と異なる点であり、モザイク制作の醍醐味とも言えます✨
【Mosaic Art Mediums】
これが、モザイク教室で受講生の皆さんが使われる材料棚です。
上の段から順に、Tesseraeというガラスで出来た四角いタイル、ステンド・グラス用ガラス板、ビーズ類、Smaltiというガラスで出来たレンガ型のタイル、陶磁器、土台となる木の板が収納されています。これらの材料は今後もっと増える予定です。
こちらに収納されているものは、大きいサイズの土台以外は受講料に含まれるため、ご自由にお使いいただけます。材料からインスピレーションを得ることもありますし、色の組み合わせによって、当初のデザインとは違った、思いもよらなかった作品になることも多々あり✨
もちろん、使いたい材料をお持ちであれば、受講時に持参して下さい。壊れてしまったり、古くなって使わなくなってしまった陶磁器やガラス、プラスチックなどを使うことで、思い出の品に新たに息を吹き込むことも出来ますよ(*^^*)
【Work in Progress】
This is the work I'm currently working on. Almost looks like a shell🐚
The wooden (MDF) part exposed and the little spaces between the tiles/glasses will be filled in later.
I can always find some traces of myself somewhere in my mosaic work. But at the same time, something completely different from my previous work shows up! Making mosaics will help you discover something new about yourself and in fact, I often think 'I've never imagined that I could make this type of art!'

これが現在、制作中の作品です。徐々に貝殻のようなデザインになってきました^ ^
茶色のむき出しの木の部分と、ピースの間の隙間は今後埋めていきます。
ここを見れば私が作った物だと分かる「指紋」のような箇所もあれば、今までの作品には見られなかった特徴もあり、作品を作るたびに、「まさか自分がこういうテイストの作品を作るとは思わなかった！」というような自己発見が毎回あります(*^^*)

初心者の方でも参加できます。 制作スピードは個人個人で異なりますが、目安として、
30x30cm以上のサイズ、または緻密なデザインの作品の制作をご希望の場合、
２日間以上の受講が必要となる傾向があります。

🔳 費用別途の材料
土台（ガラスや陶器を貼りつける物）となる板の値段の目安は以下。希望者には詳細を送ります。
土台はお持ちいただいても構いません。例：トップの画像は縁ありの土台、下の作品は
縁無しの物を使用。また、使わなくなった写真立て（縁が広くて平な物）などを土台
とする事で、再生させる事もできます。
▶︎ 正方形か丸型の板（縁無し）：30x30cm 無料、40x40cm £4
▶︎ 正方形か丸型の板（縁付き）：30x30cm £10、40x40cm £16

Forest Hill駅から徒歩5分
🔳 大まかな工程
デザイン → 土台の準備 → ガラスや陶磁器をカット → セメントなどで貼る
→ 乾かす → 目地埋め → 仕上げ → 完成！
ステンド・グラスで使うガラス板を始め、食器や花瓶といった陶磁器、ビーズなど、
様々な材料を使用します。板ガラスは、ステンド・グラス制作と同じカッティング技術
を用い、主としてモザイク・アートの直接技法で制作します。
🔳 参加者年齢
8歳以上のお子様もご参加いただけますが、安全のため、ガラスや陶磁器などの材料のカッティングは、13歳以上のみ可となります。また、16歳以下のお子様には成人の付き添いが必要となります。ご了承下さい。
